Sirocco Quilt - Fabric Inspo!

The first part of making any quilt is deciding what fabric to use, which colour palette to go with. And you either love this process or find it completely overwhelming. Either way I have put this blog post together to help inspire you.

Below you will find the fabric requirements for the Sirocco Quilt pattern and a few graphic mock-ups of the pattern with a key to the side of the fabric. And at the very bottom of this post is a list of some great fabric shops across the globe!

Alternatively you can play around with the Sirocco Quilt pattern on our digital colouring-in page at Pre-Quilt. This is great way to play around with colours and you can use known fabric brands such as Art Gallery Pure Solids, Kona and Moda solids.

Don’t be afraid to use prints. This Ruby Star Society Stay Gold version is one of my favourites. The colours just pop! Smaller repeated printed fabrics work best in contrasting colours which helps the shape of the Sirocco block stand out.

For the cover version of the Sirocco Quilt pattern I used a combination of Kona solids inspired by the binding fabric which I had in my stash. I loved the mix of purples and pinks with the contrasting yellows. It all came together so well. Using printed fabric for colour inspiration is one of my favourite ways to be inspired.
